As Italy did not name a representative due to unclarities surrounding licenses for 2004/05, Germany obtained an additional spot which went to Wolfsburg.
Atlantas (Lithuania) take the place originally scheduled for a Moldovan representative.
MiPa 47 (Finland) take the place originally scheduled for a Kazakhstan representative.
Teuta (Albania) took the place of Mika (Armenia) who obtained a Fair Play spot in the UEFA Cup.

Schalke 04, Lille and Villarreal won UEFA Intertoto Cup 2004. All three teams advanced to the UEFA Cup (1st round).
